VPN Leak Check

Compare the address, ASN, and registered network for this request with IPv6 and WebRTC candidates from this browser. This page does not detect a VPN, label hosting, or test DNS leaks.

Address this site sees

Reading the address for this request…

Hosting and VPN signal

Unavailable

Unavailable. GeoJS, the geolocation provider used for this lookup, does not classify an address as hosting, VPN, or proxy. The organization name is the registered network owner, not a verdict.

IPv6

Checking for an IPv6 address on this request and in WebRTC candidates…

WebRTC

This check asks the browser for ICE candidates and sends a STUN request to stun.cloudflare.com. Cloudflare can see that connection. Candidate addresses stay in this page and are not uploaded to FindMyIP. Names ending in .local are mDNS aliases; this page does not resolve them.

Gathering WebRTC candidates…

DNS resolver

Not tested

Not tested. A browser does not reveal its DNS resolver to a website, and FindMyIP does not operate a nameserver that can see which resolver asked for a name. This page does not report a DNS leak result.

A match between this site and a public WebRTC candidate means those two checks saw the same address. It does not certify the VPN, the operating system, or other apps.

Read WebRTC IP leak basics for what a candidate is, and what a VPN changes on your visible IP for the HTTP path this page is comparing against.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this detect my VPN?

No. The registered organization and ASN come from GeoJS, which does not label an address as hosting, VPN, or proxy. A network name that looks like a datacenter is something you can read. It is not a verdict from this site.

What does the WebRTC section show?

Addresses the browser gathered as ICE candidates, including a server-reflexive address from Cloudflare’s STUN server when one arrives. A public candidate that differs from the address this site sees means another path was exposed to the page. mDNS names ending in .local are not resolved. No candidates is inconclusive, not a pass.

Does this test DNS leaks?

No. Browsers do not tell a website which DNS resolver they use, and FindMyIP does not run a nameserver that records the resolver. This page will not show a DNS leak result.

What about IPv6?

If this request or a readable WebRTC candidate uses a globally routable IPv6 address, the page lists it. Seeing only IPv4 does not prove IPv6 is turned off, and it does not describe other apps.
